BINGO NIGHT
This is one of Haycock's most popular events. Our longtime volunteer Erin has left detailed notes to help the next coordinator of this fun event. We are looking for one person to help plan and run this event, which as of now is planned for 2/3/2023.
HERITAGE NIGHT
Pre-Covid this was a cherished event for our Haycock families. We need 2-3 people to take the lead to help plan this wonderful night at our school that celebrates the diversity of our community. As of now, the event is planned for 3/16/2023, so there's lots of time to plan and prepare!
TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK
We are looking for 2 volunteers to coordinate activities for our Teacher Appreciation Week in May. You would work with the Social VP and room parents to coordinate and schedule fun activities for our teachers throughout the first week in May.

Opportunities to Volunteer IN your Child's Classroom
We are re-introducing two PTA-sponsored programs this year that were very popular pre-Covid. We still need volunteers in many classrooms. Please read the descriptions below, and if you are interested, please email your child's teacher. One of our Coordinators will then be in touch with you about the next steps.
ART APPRECIATION PROGRAM
Would you like to help bring fun and engaging art lessons into your child's classroom? If so, consider volunteering for the Art Appreciation program. Past lessons have included sessions on Color, Alma Thomas, and Graffiti to name just a few and have allowed the students to work on creative projects with a variety of art materials. Parent Volunteers will deliver a previously developed 10-20 minute presentation on the art or artist and, for the rest of the hour, teach and supervise an art project or activity that students will use to explore the concepts introduced. No expertise in art is required! Parent volunteers will be given lesson plans, materials, and tools (if applicable) and detailed instructions from our Art Program Lead for each lesson.

Volunteers Needed in the Library
Haycock Library is seeking to schedule volunteers during the school day. The library needs help for 1-2 hours at a time throughout the school day (between 9:20 am-4 pm). Help is especially needed in the mornings: 9:20 am-Noon. We ask for a commitment of 1-2 hours on a regular basis.
What? Training will be provided and librarian/assistant will also be in the library.
Volunteers will be working with books: Putting books in order, shelving books, straightening shelves and making sure books are in order, and sometimes help with student check out.
Interested? Please include preferred days/times and email Jeannie Sklar, Librarian, at jsklar@fcps.edu
