SCOUTS AT HAYCOCK

Picture

CUB SCOUTS Big and Small

The local Cub Scout Pack 861 is a great opportunity for fun and learning. Activities this year include fishing, camping at a location that has dinosaur digs, archery, a sling shot range, water rocket launches and songs by the campfire. We also have plans for snow tubing in the winter, and the scouts historic Pinewood Derby, in the spring, and lots of hiking.

The Scouts encourages kids to learn about their family history, develop self reliance and accountability, and experience doing things for the family.

Depending on the scouts ages, there will be opportunities to visit fire/police stations, ride bikes, learn cooking simple meals, express entrepreneurial spirits, tell silly jokes, learn first aid, launch model rockets, experience concepts of engineering, and most importantly have fun AWAY from those tablets and electronics.

While the events are geared towards the kids, we have found that many adults have just as much fun. It's just like being a kid all over again!

For those interested, please email committee861@gmail.com for more information about attending a Parent Meeting. This is a great opportunity to see what is going on in the month ahead, including our pinnacle Camping Trip of the year.

Be Amazing! Join Girl Scouts!

Girl Scouts go on fun adventures, travel, learn new skills, help their community and become the next generation of leaders! The Girl Scout program builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Troops are now forming at Haycock!  A membership Specialist from the GS Council will be at BTSN this Thursday, August 31st to answer any questions you may have.  We will form NEW Girl Scout Troops, based on the sign up of girls from each grade level.

Become a parent volunteer and join other parents to help your daughter and her new friends discover, connect and take action. If you are interested or have any questions about registering your daughter in a Girl Scout troop, please contact Amie Le at amieod2000@gmail.com. Please be sure to specify your daughter's name and grade level in your email.
