2022-2023 Haycock MATHCOUNTS club is coming！
2022-2023 Haycock MATHCOUNTS club is coming！ Come join us and meet your future MATHCOUNTS teammates and let’s all have some math challenges!
Club Kickoff meeting (Club members ONLY) - in person at
Haycock Cafeteria Wednesday, September 28th, 5-6 PM.
Meeting guest speaker TJ well-known mathematics teacher Dr. Osborne.
Haycock Mathcounts club aims to develop students’ problem-solving abilities, critical thinking skills, and logical reasoning through problem-solving sessions, practices, and competitions. During our club meetings, we will cover concepts/topics that frequently occur in the MATHCOUNTS competitions and teach efficient strategies required for contest-based problem-solving. The club study curriculum is planned by TJ's mathematics teacher Dr. Osborne. Haycock Mathcounts Club is sponsored and run by Sunshine Academy. Sunshine Academy has 20 years of helping students to pursue their academic interests, fully develop their overall skills, and reach their fullest potential. To find more math competition prep or TJ math and science classes, please visit sunshine-academy.org.
Note: Students who apply to participate in the school round Mathcounts competition will be automatically enrolled in our club. The club meets virtually every Wednesday after school from 6:00 - 7:00 PM, starting on October 5th.
***6th Graders and 5th Graders (who are taking 6th Grade math) are eligible to apply***
ONLY 6th Graders are eligible and will be selected for the Mathcounts Chapter Competition.
