SCOUTS AT HAYCOCK
CUB SCOUTS Big and SmallThe local Cub Scout Pack 861 is a great opportunity for fun and learning. Activities this year include fishing, camping at a location that has dinosaur digs, archery, a sling shot range, water rocket launches and songs by the campfire. We also have plans for snow tubing in the winter, and the scouts historic Pinewood Derby, in the spring, and lots of hiking.
The Scouts encourages kids to learn about their family history, develop self reliance and accountability, and experience doing things for the family. Depending on the scouts ages, there will be opportunities to visit fire/police stations, ride bikes, learn cooking simple meals, express entrepreneurial spirits, tell silly jokes, learn first aid, launch model rockets, experience concepts of engineering, and most importantly have fun AWAY from those tablets and electronics. While the events are geared towards the kids, we have found that many adults have just as much fun. It's just like being a kid all over again! For those interested, please email [email protected] for more information about attending a Parent Meeting. This is a great opportunity to see what is going on in the month ahead, including our pinnacle Camping Trip of the year. |
