Foreign Language Experience Program (FLEX)

Haycock PTA is proud to offer the 2009/2010 Foreign Language Experience Program (FLEX) to our students.  The program is designed for grades 1-6 with an emphasis on the listening and speaking skills of the target language which is taught through games and activities. A Kindergarten only class will be offered starting in January.

Classes begin the week of October 12, 2009 and will meet once per week for 20 weeks from 8-9 am. Additional information is available here: Flex Information
This year, Haycock will offer beginning to intermediate level classes for Spanish, French, Chinese and German. Please note that the following classes are not currently available for registration, pending teacher confirmation and sufficient student interest: Hindi, French 3, German 3, Chinese 3. If you are interested in one of these classes, it is important to email Maria Barnett at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) as soon as possible in order to get the classes running.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS OCTOBER 2nd. Cost for the 2009/2010 school year is $179 for Level 1 and 2 classes and $235 for Level 3 classes. Need based scholarships are available through Principal Maureen Boland.

The first step in registering is to find the course and section number which you will need for registration. Click on the Flex Course Listing. This document also includes the complete FLEX calendar.
Next, you can register by printing the FLEX Paper Registration Form and returning it to school, along with payment, in an envelope marked “PTA – FLEX”.
Registration may also be completed online through the FCPS Adult and Community Education website, starting September 14, at: ACE
