WE NEED YOUR HELP TO IMPROVE SCIENCE EDUCATION AT HAYCOCK
We are looking for volunteers to assist our wonderful Science Specialist, Anne Rosenbaum. Everything is flexible as far as time of day, or day of week. If interested in helping out, please contact Anne Rosenbaum at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
- Volunteers are needed to help inventory all non-fiction science classroom books. (Middle school students in search of Community Service Hours can do this!) In addition, we need a few parents who like to do public library and Internet searches for books on specific subjects (such as snails, tadpoles and crayfish).
- Helpers are needed to assist with prepping materials for labs that teachers want to do in their classrooms – for example assembling rock/mineral sets, cutting/stripping wires for electricity investigations, preparing onion skin slides for microscope studies. Some of these things are time sensitive (i.e. prepping materials for a lab on a specific day), whereas others can take place over a longer period of time (i.e. book inventory)

HEAR YE, HEAR YE… THERE SHALL BE A CONTEST AMONG EVERY CLASS IN HAYCOCKLAND
The race is on…which classroom will collect the most Box Tops and win the prize??? To participate, just clip, collect and send your Box Tops to class in a baggie or envelope clearly marked with your classroom teacher’s name. There is also a Box Tops collection box in the cafeteria, and your child’s classroom will receive credit as long as baggies/envelopes are clearly labeled.

PTA SUGGESTION BOX

Your suggestions and inventiveness make Haycock PTA a success. If you have ideas about how the Haycock PTA could make our school an even better place to be please complete a suggestion card and place in the PTA Suggestion Box in the Front Office.
Every event that the PTA does, every action that it takes, is the result of someone making the suggestion: “Why doesn’t the PTA do ...” Our school is blessed with many individuals who give generously of their time. Your suggestions on how to strengthen our community are always greatly appreciated.
